I Stand to See

prophetic teaching Nov 06, 2020
...:

I know that some of you, even if you love me, wonder if I am "off my rocker" at times. I know you scratch your heads when I say that God speaks to people today and that sometimes He reveals His purposes and plans to me.  I have made some fairly bold statements lately, and you wonder why I speak this way. Someone did ask: what if you are wrong?

I immediately thought of 2 Kings 6:33-7:1-2. I also thought of Exodus 14:13.
Within my own mind, I have decided that I will stand my watch to see what God will do, so I know how to answer when I am reproved. (Hab. 2:1)

Now, let me expand my thoughts a bit. The big question seems to be:
Can a prophet make a mistake? Yes.

To be precise, however, we actually need to look at two different questions:

Can a prophet make a mistake and be a false prophet? yes
Can a prophet make a mistake and be a Godly prophet? yes

These statements sound contradictory but are actually complementary. I have written about these questions in my book in detail but let me hit the highlights  [You can check out my book Divinely Commissioned: God's Delivery Service at https://www.prophetscalls.com/book-offer-page]

All prophets must walk by faith and prophesy through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and in the power of the Holy Spirit. There is no "prophetic pill" that we can take to become a prophet, and when flowing in the prophetic, we must constantly be on alert to avoid speaking out of our own desires. Our job as part of God's supernatural delivery service is to deliver God's word as precisely and carefully as we are able, ensuring that the word is given to the right recipient.

For the one receiving the prophetic word, the receiver must understand certain principles. Receiving, believing, and benefiting from the prophetic word involves our judging the prophetic word and [once we have decided it is legitimate] to stand on that word even when the "facts" seem to negate that word.

Standing in faith can be difficult. In those difficult times, I think of the three Hebrew young men who declared that our God is well able to deliver us, but even if He does not, we will not bow down and worship your idol. [Check it out: Daniel 3:16-30].

Now, specifically, looking at the election, I know many Christians listened to prophetic words coming forth about the elections. I know many others did not listen; however, all believers [I hope!] voted according to their own conscience.   With the outcome in doubt and with questions arising about the integrity of the election, many of the prophets are now being mocked, ridiculed, and dismissed. However, I believe that it is the enemy who is using people; he is the one who is doing the mocking, ridiculing, and dismissing because HE FEARS THE VOICE OF GOD BEING RELEASED IN THIS GENERATION!

And one way that God is speaking is through His prophets!

The battle lines are being drawn. Do not swallow whole anything [including a prophecy] that you hear. Evaluate every prophetic word against Scripture and the character of God. Submit your word to mature believers and listen to wise counsel. But having done that, remember:

Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing
without revealing his plan
to his servants the prophets. Amos 3:7

16b‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. ...17 You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’ 2 Chronicles 20
I look with expectation to see what God will do!

So now I am standing to see what the Lord will do knowing His word does not fall to the earth void.
