Live Clean

There is a lot of talk going around about "eating clean" and "Living clean."  However, I believe that we must learn how to live spiritually clean.

We must live fear-free. These are easy words to say or write, but a little hard actually to do.

Each day, we must choose faith over fear.  Will we live as though we actually believe that God is a loving, all-powerful God?  Otherwise, we will act as though He 

  • Doesn’t really passionately love us,
  • Only tolerates our existence,
  • Or is too weak to really control every aspect of our lives. 

We must choose each day to believe that what makes us different makes us beautiful.  We must receive the truth daily that God delights in our uniqueness.

Why are our attitudes and actions so important? The enemy wants to take the special, the “different” that God put in each of us [in me!]  and try and beat us down with those unique qualities.  He wants me to be insecure.  He wants me to feel defeated, a loser. The enemy wants me—and you—to hate ourselves [and to hate God] for making us unlike anyone else.

The importance of understanding how the enemy attacks our self-image so that we will be anxious or full of self-doubt and hatred is doubly important for those God has called to be His messengers, for if we hate ourselves, if we think God short-changed us in some way, then we cannot fully demonstrate the love and power of God to others; our insecurity and self-hatred will color everything we do and say for God. 

God sets me apart for a holy purpose, to anoint me [smear me—anointing literally comes from a word meaning “smear”] with His anointing [His smearing] so as to lift me up so that He will be lifted up through me. For me to lift up the Lord so that others may see Him clearly, I must be a clean vessel, healed of self-hatred and insecurities.

To walk in the divine healing that God intends for my soul, I must daily refresh and wash myself in the Word of God. The world system is constantly dumping filth on me through direct attacks of criticism addressed directly to me and through and through indirect attacks such as TV ads].

I need to keep washing!  I must stay in God’s Word. Oh, I have to study the Bible to prepare talks and lessons, but I also need to just read it, just “eat” it. I need to cleanse my thinking and remove the lies that get dumped into my consciousness both in the morning as well as at night. 

Prophetess Dayna Belcher has said, “Let the mature dumped by the enemy become God’s fertilizer to promote growth.”  How true!

How much easier it is to walk in God’s freedom and feel confident of His love when we have washed in His Word.

Need to take a spiritual bath?  Dive into the Word!

 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. [Philippians 4:8]
